More places for your geeky bucket list

The Register - my daily online newsletter of reference has over the last few years published a series of articles in the Geeks Guide to Britain series
see
https://www.theregister.co.uk/science/geeks_guide/

some of the locations are suitable for photo visits and most if not all will bring back happy memories or "well I nevers" .

Enjoy

Some really interesting places there Derek, thanks very much.
Been to is the Royal Mail railway (my late father worked in one of the buildings it served so went as a visitor)
Seen a few others I have visited too, but a good number that I haven't
I like to browse the Atlas Obscura for places to visit, do enjoy something a bit more unusual.
Bit scuppered this year, intended to visit the Wuppertal Schwebebahn again. Its been closed since last December and not opening again until Aug 1st at the earliest. Still going because my wife's friend lives in Wuppertal, but just won't be the same.

Yes, thanks Derek, some fascinating stuff. I wasn't aware of Bennerley Viaduct before although I have been to the area - perhaps I simply didn't notice it as the author suggests is easily done. I cruised the Erewash Canal many years ago but didn't see it then either. I have cruised across the Barton swing aqueduct and traversed the nearby Anderton Boat Lift, both worth a visit. I don't think the aqueduct swings very often nowadays given the dearth of shipping on the Manchester Ship Canal but that would be something to see.
