Mt Bromo & Papuma beach Adventure.

A brief Photography trip to Mt Bromo in Surabaya Indonesia. And from there to Pantai_Papuma

We started off with a Sunset of the Mt Bromo.

And yours truly was not armed with those Super FF and neither was with those ND, Grad ND and those really fancy plates...And it being a hazy, decided to shoot the shooters

That night, I had my first glimpse of the milkyway

With the help of those in the Milkway discussion thread, I manage to capture those shots.

Re: Mt Bromo & Papuma beach Adventure.

Frankly, I have all the luck. The landcruiser I was in had no wipers and the lights were very dim. We were lost and by the time we got to the shooting spot and all the good places were already taken.

and

We were at another hill, Bukit KingKong that over looks the Tengger Semeru Massif which Mt Bromo is part of.

It all seems to have been worthwhile inspite of the teething problems on the way.

Re: Mt Bromo & Papuma beach Adventure.

We all feel your pain Henry with the lack of good light and visibility in such a beautiful location. The only consolation is those with the FF high mega pixel cameras would not have got anything either.

Hope you brought those raws of MW home to play with.

Henry, what an impressive shoot you had; stunning views and challenging lighting handled like a pro.

So I had to make do with what was available. Like later morning shots, handheld panoramas, Times I was the last to leave the shooting spot as I needed to wait for the others to clear out before taking a shot.

Oh yes..those RAWs. I was shooting with Jpg+Raw. Still trying to sort out how to get the most out of them and kicking myself for not reading up more and following your good advice. Some of those MW shots were sadly covered by a low cloud.

I am very sure you can get some very impressive MW shots at where you are. Having shown you some of those MW shots, it's time for you to go to your outbacks to give us some. hehehehe

Re: Mt Bromo & Papuma beach Adventure.

There is another viewing platform of the Tengger Semeru Massif. I did not make it there as I was the last few down from the top of Bukit Kingkong.

On our descent, we stopped at the Love Hill

Our ride

3 of us had to cramp into the back.

Re: Mt Bromo & Papuma beach Adventure.

We stopped again on the way down to the valley floor. and while the rest of them were busy,

(and no, we didn't run him over. He was just too car sick to continue)

I notice the cloud that was covering the valley floor receding

and it eventually cleared.
