I'm having issues with Flickr where a pictue will look sharp and detailed on my screen before upload, but looks soft when hosted. I will be shortly moving to Zenfolio for my hosting as i need the member galleries for the swimming clubs shots etc so hopefully that will solve the problem.

All comments are greatly appreciated regarding composition etc.

Re: My Local Rememberence Day

An excellent collection of photographs. I should think a local paper might well be interested in using them.

Definitely - there's a double page coplour spread there for your local paper - if they haven't already got it from a TOG you are in there.

Great pics Chris - very impressive on the E-3 too - send them to Oly as well

There didn't seem to be an 'official' tog there today, so fingers crossed.

How would i send them to Oly?, what the procedure?

Yup!

Quite a chunk of glass to heave round but the results, even when wide open speak for themselves.

Re: My Local Rememberence Day

I don't know what it is, but I like the photos from the E-1 better. They seem to have a richer color to them.

My 2 cents.

I know what you mean about the E-1 images, there is a certain 'something' to their tonality.

There has always been a certain 'film like' quality to images from the E1, which is missing from most other digital cameras that I have seen.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but it is there for sure. By comparison, the images from some Nikon cameras in particular seem to shout 'digital!'

Chris - these are a wonderful set of reportage images, that beautifully capture the emotions of the day. The 35-100mm looks to be a spectacular lens yielding crisp results. I might have to consider this lens once I am back in work.

Great set Chris.

Thanks John, comments much appreciated. I tried to go for more emotional shots, and was not sure if i had 'hit-the-mark'.

The 35-100mm is indeed a spectacular lens. The offer is still there for me to send it down for a test run if you like. Just let mw know and i'll get it sorted (provided i have no Galas coming up)

Re: My Local Rememberence Day

Great set of shots!

These guys deserve a LOT of respect and it saddens me to see young folk of today (i'm "only" 31) not appreciating the past and what these brave did people did for us.

Re: My Local Rememberence Day

Chris - I bet Ian can point you to the right Oly source for those shots.

Silly me I thought they were all E-3 shots - just goes to show how good the E-1 still is < proudly smiles at his own E-1 >

Whatever the cam - really great sympathetic pics which deserve a wider airing.

I really covet that lens but can you imagine what it would look like with an adaptor and a micro 4/3 body attached...? LOL
