side files in LR5

I took some pics using an 'Art Filter' but after importing to LR 5, I only see the RAW files, not the jpegs which have the 'Art filter' treatment.
How can I view and edit the jpegs?

Well Brian, I thought that I had. In the Library mode, the file name has ORF extension and in window below, 'sidecar files', it reads jpeg. But I cannot find them.

In Lightroom/Preferences, make sure "treat jpegs as separate files" is checked.

Re: side files in LR5

Also check in the Library view that there isn't a filter applied (top of viewing pane in thumbnail view) to view RAW only

Re: side files in LR5

Thanks guys. Looks like I will have to try to recover the jpegs from the card as I have formatted it.

NO you will not, the jpegs are there LR in the same folder as the ORF files it is just not showing them hence why sidecar files are jpeg.

Just do as Stephen said and ticked the box.

Then restart LR and right click on the folder where the same ORF files are stored and select Synchronize folder, this should make them show in LR.

Dave,
To avoid the trouble of recovering images from the SD card, an alternative would be to copy the ORF files from your computer onto an SD card. Then put this card into your camera and use the "RAW Data Edit" functions in the camera's Playback Menu to create JPEG copies of the image with the relevant Art filters applied. See page 85 of the E-M1 user manual for more info.
You can then re-import these newly created JPEGs into LR (as separate images).

PS: I think you may also do this by firing up Olympus Viewer and applying the art filters to the selected ORFs to generate corresponding JPEG image files.

Re: side files in LR5

What you may have to do is to synchronise your folder which contains the raw and jpeg files if you did not have the 'treat as separate files' box ticked at the time of import. This will include the jpegs in the catalogue and show them on the filmstrip.

the files are there on the HDD just not included in LR catalogue as separate files
