Photomatix

I've just got Photomatix and I see that there is an option for "exposure blending" - has anyone used this and does it offer anything over the HDR process?

regards

I've recently played with Photomatix. I like the exposure blending better! But then, personally I tend to react against the artifice and unnatural colours of much of the stuff that gets hdr'd and tone-mapped. I like the ones where you're not entirely sure it's been hdr'd....

But I am at very early stages with Photomatix, like you, and I'd be interested to learn from the wise in here.

Thing about Photomatix is that it has several tools so you can develop your images differently ... go experiment and see what works for you
