Lens Baby maybe Picasa Soft Focus?

Had a go at using the soft focus function in Picasa to create a lens baby effect: Just for fun and to share some different pics.

Re: Lens Baby maybe Picasa Soft Focus?

No offence Paul but this seems in my honest opinion a total waste of a half hour of your life that you will never get back. Would have much prefered to see them in their original form, they dont look half bad to me, regards, Ian W.

Re: Lens Baby maybe Picasa Soft Focus?

Ian

Cheers, no offence taken. There have been plenty of times where I've wasted more than half an hour of my life and never got back, most of them when I worked as a civil servant for 20 odd years, and a few nights that I have no idea where I was.

But as it's been 30+ recently and I've got sick of sunbathing I thought I'd sit inside with the aircon on full blast and "play" with some software.

The lens baby effect seems to be quite popular - the shots of cities shown during the recent Eurovision contest where very nice (I presume someone spent a lot on equipment, time and know how rather than run them through Picasa).

I guess some people will like another persons interpretation of a scene and some wont. All's fair in love and art.

I would add a few smiley things but haven't worked out how to add them - I'll book in half an hour tomorrow and work out how.

Best Regards
Paul

.............how much have I wasted...I support Aston Villa....

I am a "don't like" on these.
It reminds me of the Orton effect from a few years ago...almost always spoilt a great shot.

Hi Paul, Thanks for re posting your pics in their original form, I like them but No. 2 is the standout shot for me. As for Keith and The Villa, he should think himself lucky, I have to endure "The Cobblers" week in week out (I must have been a right b******d in a previous life) all the best Paul, Ian W.

Re: Lens Baby maybe Picasa Soft Focus?

Hi Paul

Another point worth mentioning here is that far better Orton effect processing can be had with the likes of Photoshop, Lightroom and Lens Effetcs than what can be achieved with Picasa. If you like the tilt-shift effect, then perhaps have a try with one of those apps.

Re: Lens Baby maybe Picasa Soft Focus?

Hmmm - makes me rub my eyes when I see soft-focus images without a sharp point. I don't even like genuine Lensbaby shots, I'm afraid. The originals are very promising, though. :-)
