Re: How sharp is the E5? Well...

I'm definately going to test that! I have the EC20, but never liked it with the 50-200 on the E3. It needs a lot of light. Looks like the light was good in this one?

Yes, it's been bright all day.
I think this shot http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=13900 really shows how capable the combo is

Re: How sharp is the E5? Well...

Nice shot, but difficult to comment on the sharpness because of the small image size. I think any of the 'E' series would do as well at this size. It would be good to see a small selection of the back.

Re: How sharp is the E5? Well...

Nice shot, I've seen a lot of superb photos on this and other forums taken with this combo. I don't have a 50-200 but I have not been convinced with the EC20 in combination with the 300mm f2.8. This is 100% crop of image taken of a male Chaffinch with E5 + 300mm f2.8 and EC14. From RAW with no sharpening:

Re: How sharp is the E5? Well...

Well, I did some more testing with the EC20 on both the 50-200 and on the 300mm prime, but I'm still getting halos. Is there an ideal aperture for the EC20? I'm not getting it right!
