Daft question

Iíve been going through some older photos and have found that the V2 firmware photos are not as sharp as many others were getting on here, so the move to V3 firmware has made a massive step for me.

Is it possible that the V2 firmware upgrade knocked something slightly out of calibration and V3 has cured it?? I canít think how it could be device specific if it was.
