Who is this ?

This image is a still from a BBC iPlayer download as titled. I ask, who is this man (with the olympus camera) ? Is he a member of this forum ?

I do not know when the clip was filmed, only that it was part of a sequence showing Trafalgar Square in London (tied in with the Admiral Nelson Monument).

So, any ideas or will he remain a Mystery Man ?

David

Re: Who is this ?

I don't think any self-respecting member of the forum would be seen with an Olympus strap? Least ways not in the UK!

He also looks about 30 years too young to be a member of this forum

Funny you should say that, I was thinking he looked a bit like me but I have 30 years' worth less of hair than that

Re: Who is this ?

Looks like a 4/3's camera and lens too, so maybe some antique footage patched in?

Whyever not?

(I'm not normally the sort of person to wear advertising stuff, but buying an extra strap doesn't seem like my highest priority. What are the advantages?)

Re: Who is this ?

Wider strap so spreads the weight out more. Not using the as spplied Oly strap means that when you sell the camera, box, strap the new owner can appear as if they have a new camera.

The straps are far too short and I find it impossible to get them over my head with my tongue wedged firmly in my cheek.

They are not going to have much luck from me then

One of mine has engine grease from use under the landy and 2 have cave mud not that I would pass that kit on to anyone.

IMO the Oly straps are fine and I have no issue using them as you can tell

Regards
Andy

Re: Who is this ?

I don't use the Olympus strap because I am worried that the Canon and Nikon big boys might notice it and call me names and give me 'chinese burns'.
