But "Packaging/Media Packaging" are on the prohibited list, so it seems you cannot wrap it up

Well maybe.

Has anyone else tried the filter button? It didn't make any difference to me, regardless the country selected.

I wonder if those prohibited items constitute a total of what's barred in any country, all listed together as a lookup table, and the filter is supposed to just list what's prohibited in the selected destination, but it's currently out of order.

e.g. if you filter for Germany, you still get the whole list, but if you got to the delivery to Germany page, you get the following;

The following items are prohibited for delivery to Germany, and will therefore be rejected when they reach the border:

Lithium batteries
Live trees and plants, including cut flowers and ornamental foliage
Opium
Liquids with an alcohol volume of 82% and above
Toy weapons
Videogames

Re: Prohibited items

Most of the stuff I get from Amazon comes by Royal Mail or Hermes. If DPD listed the items they can deliver the list might be shorter and more useful!

Re: Prohibited items

Well it's arrived safe and sound but I didn't catch the delivery guy so can't tell who delivered it! It's got caution Li Ion battery labels all over it so they couldn't say they didn't know what it was.

Re: Prohibited items

Impressive drone John as it must have opened the porch door and put the package on the inside shelf.

Re: Prohibited items

The list is crazy how do they do any business?
I have certainly had things on the list delivered by them. Lenses for certain.

I don't think any of those items are quite as on the main list though. 'Batteries' are listed not 'Lithium batteries', 'alcoholic beverages' rather than liquids with ABV >82%...
So it doesn't seem to be simply filtering.

I suspect it's hidden away deliberately. If they have issues with a package containing one of these they can then state it was on their prohibited list & avoid claims for compensation.

Last summer, I sold a lovely Nikon DSLR cam, all the lenses and batteries to a buyer in Canada via Royal Mail. I had to declare everything on a form for the customs etc and there was no problem. In Feb, I flew BA from London to Nairobi and at check-in, I was asked if I was carrying any lithium batteries in the hold luggage. I said no, they are in my carry on. Seemed to be the right answer as I had lots of smiles from the young lady and again no problems.
