Image Quality icon flashing

Excuse the newby E-1 owner question, the first of many, but on my newly-aquired E-1, the "Image Quality" icon is constantly flashing on the top panel. What is it and how do I adjust it? I only have the "basic" manual as downloaded from Oly web site.

Check what ISO you have set.I think it starts flashing after iso 800.

Just off the top of my head.

Here is the manual for download

Also check your sharpness/contrast/saturation settings

See pages 92-95 or 97.

Re: Image Quality icon flashing

Thanks for the link to the full manual, Andy. It's not the iso setting - I've just been out for a play and had it at 100, 200 and 400 but still flashing.

Footnote: got it. Shading comp was set "On". As I will only be shooting RAW, this setting is redundant so I switched it off. Wouldn't have got there without this manual. Thanks again.

Re: Image Quality icon flashing

I had this problem a while ago, and it took me ages to work out why. The manual gives no help at all.

IIRC, the problem was that I had set the Colour Space to Adobe RGB, which is incompatible with some other options I had set. (I think it might have been because I had set the camera for Raw and Jpeg output).

Anyhow, it didn't affect operation, and setting the camera to RAW output only solved the problem. Alternatively, setting it to sRGB will also stop it from flashing.
