Skye

We recently had a campervan holiday that include a journey through Skye at each end of the trip so I thought I'd share some images.
Day one started with a trip to the Fairy Pools, but rain, hoards of people and a small dog in tow convinced me to visit the quieter falls near the road:
1.

Heading north and the popular Gesto viewpoint in improving weather:
2.

A couple from Trumpan in Waternish looking in opposite directions:
3.

4.

No visit to Skye could be complete without a visit to the Wee Tea Room, Linda and Jon made us very, very welcome. Here is the tea room looking very 'wee':
5.

Not strictly Skye, but it was visible to the left of shot; the last day was a scorcher so we headed to a small beach near Plockton, but didn't get it to ourselves:
6.

7.

I will post some of the shots from the Uists sometime over the weekend

Thanks for looking

Re: Skye

You really know how to sell Scotland Iain - these are beautiful. (6, 7.) The beach that you didn't get all to yourselves is so charming!

What a lovely set Iain. I enjoyed every single one. Your compositions are always spot on for me. I am very envious!
The final one reminded me that I have a hair appointment next week and so have an affinity with that gorgeous beastie!

Re: Skye

Beautiful landscapes of a beautiful place. Must get there one day. Nice to see the Tea Room too and to know Jon and Linda are still open for business. I've missed his tales on here.

Re: Skye

A great set Iain.

I particularly like the Highland cattle too.

Looking forward to the shots from the Uists, a place I used to visit often when involved with the RAF radar on Benbecula.

Regards.

Re: Skye

Lovely pictures of Skye and I particularly like the shot of the cow in the water heading towards you.

Wonderful shots, Iain, somewhere I have yet to visit.

How is Jon, not seen him on the forum lately?

Re: Skye

Wonderful - you've made me want to jump in the car and head straight back to Skye Iain! I love the last two in particular. Is that the wee beach that you have to cross over the railway line to reach?

Jon is on good form at the moment, but still has further treatment to endure once the doctor says the time is right; the Tea Room is still doing well and seems to be a constant source of 'tales'.
Jon has got his hands on a rather nice Fuji camera so that is probably why he visits the forum less often, but the Tea Room also takes up a lot of his time.
I'm sure he will be back

Thank you David, but they're not in your league

The beach with the cattle is reached via a track from a road that goes around the back of the Aerodrome; it is sometimes referred to as a coral beach but the coral is in fact some kind of calcified seaweed I think?

Re: Skye

I suppose if you could get the Highland Cattle to eat pepper after they'd been in the sea the meat would be preseasoned.
