E-510 problem

Ever since a stepladder collapsed underneath me while I was using my E510 it has been a little bit erratic. In the main it seems to work fine, but sometimes when I switch it on nothing happens. Switching it off and back on (sometimes once two or three times) seems to clear it. But then on occasion it will take one or two shots and then lock, requiring switching off and on again. This morning it working fine (but for how long). It seems as though it could be something simple like a loose connection, but used this as an excuse to buy an E30, so now I need to sell it. My question is - is it worth paying someone to fix it (and how much is it likely to cost) or should I just cut my losses and sell it for spares/repairs (if so offers please!!).

All advice gratefully accepted.

Could you not claim on your household (or camera) insurance?

That never occurred to me (it never does when I consider it my fault). But that's why we have insurance really. Thanks for giving me a shake.
