Hello Ladies

There's a short walk along the Chesterfield canal where i spotted these characters. I've tried to snap the cock (no laughing please) a few times but he really is the ultimate 'chicken'. As soon as he sees a human he legs it into the hen house. Finally i shot him. I got one shot and surprise surprise he's gone.

Not the best way to impress the ladies, lucky for him they got no choice in the matter.

Re: Hello Ladies

Aw cute! I like chooks. There are some down the road from us. The survivors are the ones with road skills. Perhaps the rooster here wants to avoid getting put in the pot

Re: Hello Ladies

I've had plenty of hens and a couple of roosters in my time. Always liked them pottering around the garden. I used to rescue the odd hen from the "battery cages" and they would be very quiet and great for the kids to feed etc. The rooster would take a bit of watching and not kid friendly!
