Part 2 of Germany (Part 4 of the journey)

As promised (or threatened!) here are the remaining pictures of Germany, and the remainder of the best of the weather.

1. What a numpty! Our pitch was about 1/4 mile from the camp site shop and on the way to collect the bread and pastries the lighting was lovely - only to realise I'd forgotten my camera and phone, so a sprint back to the 'van and back again, but missed the best of the lighting. Grrrrr!

2. I'll take this view from my 'kitchen window' every morning!

3. Another day, another big ride. This time from Schweich to Polich. Scweich is such a dowdy town compared to the places we'd come from. But it did have a fantastic ice cream parlour that was well used and completely out of keeping with the rest of the town, and a supermarket! After two weeks it's amazing how exciting a supermarket can be! This is a smaller version of the bridges we passed over as we travelled from Belgium to Germany.

4. Saarburg falls, a lovely town square, and while enjoying a coffee and ice cream after riding there we were amazed this was just a few metres away! We couldn't hea it at all!

Some experimenting with Nik software -

5. Glad I don't live in one of these houses!

6. A nice spot for our picnic before a ride along the cycle path.

7. River barge, these are a constant feature, carrying supplies to the many power stations.

Next stop, Nancy, France

Amanda

I agree, a vey interesting set,I like No 2, if I had to choose one for my wall it would be the 6th one - river running between the buildings.

Re: Part 2 of Germany (Part 4 of the journey)

Its number two for me as well.

I'm not such a fan of the art filter in the last one, it looks a little too pushed for my liking. It looks like you are seeing some fantastic scenery though

#1 and #2 for me, Amanda, although I would like to see #1 in colour to see if it is better than the mono treatment.

Re: Part 2 of Germany (Part 4 of the journey)

Hi everybody,

Thanks for your comments. I'll look out the colour version of the first one this weekend and a less processed one of the last one.

I'd recommend Saarburg to anybody visiting that area who likes chilled out places, with plenty of cafes, shops and walking/cycling opportunities!

Re: Part 2 of Germany (Part 4 of the journey)

As suggested by OMUser here is the colour version and a dramatic tone version.

Are these better than the mono?
