Hi All
I'm planning to meet you all on Saturday, I'm not far away in /Ashby de la Zouch. Never been to a meet like this before and trains are not really my thing! but would like to meet like minded folk, I'm a novice so anything that will help me will be good!
See you there!

Just confirming the time and location for Saturday's meet. 11.30am - ish at Quorn and Woodhouse station car park - is this correct?

Looking forward to it - let's hope the weather is kind to us!

Re: East midlands meet??

I shall get to Quorn at about 11.00 as I will have to leave about 1.00pm anyway but the following may help you decide on your own timing:

Checking the GCR timetable trains from Loughborough leave every hour at 15 minutes past, arriving at Quorn at 24 minutes past. The 11.15 is usually a 'heritage' diesel and the 12.15 should be steam (as should be the 10.15) .

The same train returning leaves Leicester on the hour and arrives at Quorn at 23 minutes past. So the return train at 11.23 should be steam.

Got that?

In other words if you are able to it's worth getting to Quorn before 11.23

Hoping for good weather

Martin

Re: East midlands meet??

I "may" come in my old nail of a Renault 4.

Haven't been out for a run in it for ages

Photos can tell lies, it's much worse looking in real life!

It's an ex French police car, so has been battered around a little in its lifetime!

Re: East midlands meet??

I'm impressed. Not by the fact that it's still running, the engine is simple and fairly indestructible, but by the fact it has not rusted to bits !
