Pink Moon tonight

Pink Moon tonight
by Mark Johnson, on Flickr

Guess that's a harvest moon. Photo taken with EM1 ii with the Oly 40-150mm Pro + TC. With about 8 images stacked in Registax.

I am struggling to take a really sharp moon shot. I have tried all combinations of IS on/off, Autofocus/manual focus, Oly 40-150mm Pro/Pany 100-400, handheld/tripod, with remote release/shutter button....

Not sure if there is anything in the menu that I have altered. I used to be able to get pinsharp photos....

This stacked image is probably the best all evening, with a monopod......

Edit: On my Surface computer the moon is dirty brown. On the Dell, its nice sand pink

The Dell looks at life through a rose coloured filter?

Re: Pink Moon tonight

Well I like it, Mark, but should you need to stack for an object at infinity?

Re: Pink Moon tonight

Hi John, yes to get the most detail out of moon shots, you are better stacking than not.....

The light often comes through a lot of atmosphere, which distorts and wobbles. Stacking helps to sort that......
