Derby in Spring

First post edited using up to date Lightroom and windows 10 on my new laptop. Still working out the settings so this is just a trial to see how it posts. It was a bit fuzzy on Facebook so lets see how this goes.

Re: Derby in Spring

Thanks Mark, it's definitely better on here than on facebook but it's still a long way short of the original. Maybe I'm just seeing it better now I've got a sharper screen

Re: Derby in Spring

Lovely photo Phil.

Facebook aggressively downsamples and compresses images; some more than others it seems, so I wouldn't use that as a benchmark.

It also helps to use images which you have already downsampled yourself rather than letting Facebook do it.

Re: Derby in Spring

Thanks Guys much appreciated.
Mark win10 is sort of growing on me slowly but I still like this old win7 pc for convenience. Like old slippers I guess
Nigel I did downsample the image first as usual but I'd forgotten what the preferred sizes were so just did it at max 1000px wide so I guess FB had another go.

Nice shot.

As a matter of interest have you been to the Derby Format Festival?

Re: Derby in Spring

Thanks Rob. As for format no i haven't. When i looked at some of the early publicity material it all looked a bit highbrow for me. Might have another look though now you've mentioned it. What are you interested in?

Re: Derby in Spring

Not sure yet - the calendar part of the website seems not to work very well. Thinking of popping over this afternoon (if I can get other stuff completed in time) and having a look at one or two of the exhibitions at least, and hopefully pick up a paper version of the programme which won't be plagued by website designers putting innovation and creativity above usability and correct functioning.
