Andrezej Dragan Effect

I thought I would try to produce the dragan effect using Lightroom 5 on this image taken with a E-30.

Re: Andrezej Dragan Effect

I'm not a fan of portraits, but that effect really suits the subject.

Any chance of a brief run down of how you got that result - I don't use lightroom so will have to try to work it out but think you have done great things with that picture !

Re: Andrezej Dragan Effect

Ditto from me. Its a great effect well in keeping with the subject. I just wonder what a sort of half way house would look like? It's an excellent shot to start with too.

Re: Andrezej Dragan Effect

It's a harrowing and aged effect. Powerful and from a nice portrait.

I'm not sure I like it though, don't get me wrong it's a nice shot and nice PP but there is something a little haggard about it for me. Remind me of older pictures from museums I've been to that portray horrible things...

Powerful photo (this isn't a negative point on the capture)

Re: Andrezej Dragan Effect

They are both effective. #2 benefits from dulling the bright red jumper - it's much too bright, grabs your attention too much in #1. However, I think it could look better as a B&W shot, with micro clarity wound up somewhat, to bring out the skin detail. Personally, I wouldn't have chopped his left ear off like that. Either all off, or none off.

Re: Andrezej Dragan Effect

I like the original and am impressed with the processed effect, but I don't really like the result.
