Small improvement to 'Thanks' option

Hi, for some time the 'Thanks' option has only half-worked here on the e-group - some of you who also look at Four Thirds User will have noticed that information about how many thanks you have given and received is displayed on the top right of each of your posts. That has been missing here on the e-group but from I can happily report the small bug that was preventing it from being displayed has been found and fixed

Have a look for yourself!

Ian

Re: Small improvement to 'Thanks' option

It looks like the inability to change an avatar might be cured too, except that I do get this message flashing across the top of the screen before it actually updates

Warning: tempnam() [function.tempnam]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File() is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/egroup:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in [path]/includes/class_dm_userpic.php on line 204
Warning: fopen() [function.fopen]: Filename cannot be empty in [path]/includes/class_image.php on line 333

It took a bit of doing to catch it quick enough to copy and paste though

Re: Small improvement to 'Thanks' option

OK, I thought I had fixed the avatar issue. Thanks for this - I will investigate!

Re: Small improvement to 'Thanks' option

You can change it now, it's just that I briefly get that error message flashing across the screen. At least I do in Opera anyway, not tried a different browser.
Thanks for all your efforts to keep these boards running.

p.s. just tried the same change of avatar on FourThirdsUser and still get the "Invalid File" message.
It's the same file as the one I changed to here. i.e. from the Marlin to the Landrover; it is winter after all

Re: Small improvement to 'Thanks' option

OK - try again on FTU; I have applied the same change there.

Re: Small improvement to 'Thanks' option

Well done, the Avatar change works there too now, though I still get an error message popping up.
It's hard to capture, but Here's most of it

Warning: tempnam() [function.tempnam]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File() is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/egroup:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in [path]/includes/class_dm_userpic.php on line 204

Warning: fopen() [function.fopen]: Filename cannot be empty in [path]/includes/class_image.php on line 333

Personally I'm not that bothered about swapping avatars anyway. I only tried it originally a while ago to try and confirm Woofmix's problems

Re: Small improvement to 'Thanks' option

I'm now logged out on DPNow and can't log back in. I'll try pulling the battery out of this Blackberry to clear the browser and try logging in again.

Re: Small improvement to 'Thanks' option

Clearing the browser worked Ian. I was logged out on here after the maintenance but logged back in without a problem.
