Thumbs up POTD Wednesday 3rd December 2008

Martin Farrow has scored a rather spectacular double by getting on to the e-group POTD today... after being Four Thirds User's POTD yesterday!

And he's clearly enjoying the use of his Zuiko Digital 7-14mm f/4 with this shot, taken at the widest setting of 7mm:

Graham nominated Martin's picture and here's why:

"There are lots of classic "elements" of image construction that have gone into this composition. It has the look of Infra Red about it that adds to the overall effect and the use of a wide angle lens gives us that "huge space" effect that puts the viewer into the picture. The "S" curve is used well in this picture to take the eye from the bottom left hand corner, up through the picture in a way that is natural when viewing such a scene.

Ok so a dog running along the foreshore would have made this a winning shot, but the photographer has waited for just the right moment to capture the wave break and in doing so has produced a really worthwhile image. As for the sky, well that's why the picture was taken in the first place.

Overall a high quality image and pleasing to look at."

Thans Graham and well done - again - Martin!

So who will be next? We need nominations from you - just email (forum-admin@e-group.uk.net) me or send a forum Private Message to me (send to Ian) with a link to the gallery page where your chosen image is shown and include a sentence or two about why you like the picture so much.

Ian
