If you went down to the woods today

Went for a walk in the woods on our nature reserve today to take advantage of the sunshine. Tried to capture the amount of green that still exists even though the trees are leafless and some textures. Not sure I succeded. Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

Nice shots

Particularly enjoyed the first, woodland is so difficult to shoot and retain framing.

Thanks for your positive comments Nick. You're right about the difficulty of framing. No 4 was a real problem, if I'd kept the "bump" on the right fully in frame it looked like a page 3 model which I felt would have distracted from the texture.

Re: If you went down to the woods today

Looks like some difficult lighting conditions you were working with there Peter. I want to like the one of the logs on the floor, but I'm not finding enough contrast and texture.

You're quite right, I did struggle with the lighting. It was getting late in the afternoon and the sun was getting too low. I had hoped to make something of the shafts of light through the trees but it didn't work out. However it was an interesting learning exercise. Must try harder.

Thanks for commenting.
