Close Crocodile shot taken in SA earlier this year...

I was fortunate enough to be asked by clients to travel to South Africa twice this year - here's one of my favourite shots from the trips. Taken with my E-510.

Haha... t'would be nice of course, but that's not the reason I posted it. The reason I am posting some images into the Gallery here is that I very soon see myself frequenting this site more than any other photography site and want to get my images on the gallery here.

Ian has been kind enough to recently up the gallery space for E-group members and so I for one will add images here. All bodes well for the site I guess.

Howver, having said that... thanks a million for the comments, still very much learning, but really enjoying it and cannot wait to get my hands on the E-3.

More technically (as I think we've established its a great pic), I think the DoF if just about perfect. It keeps the whole eye sharp but rolls of nicely on the teeth and background to stop them distracting from that beady eye.
All the best,
Phil

I completely agree. As this is such a good shot, it does invite some more critial feedback as it's worthwhile. If there is a problem with the shot, the defcoussed areas are not very smooth and I wonder if this is because the picture has been over-sharpened? It might be worth starting again and masking out a generously feathered selection where sharpening needs to be applied but leaving the defocussed areas alone. Just a suggestion.
