A couple of photographic friends criticized my image "Red Glove" because the window frame, which is red, detracted from the attention on the red glove too much, in their eyes. So, I have toned it down - desaturated it.

What do you think? Does this improve the image, or does it make no difference? I can't quite make my mind up. Or do you think the image would be better black and white except for the glove?

Your opinion is much appreciated.

Re: Opinion?

It is a very busy image and the glove is at the edge of the frame (partly going out actually). The bright area outside the window is distractive and draws my eye away from the interesting machinery. I don't really think that the glove adds anything to the composition as the machinery and cobwebs are interesting enough on their own. I would go for a different angle and a gritty mono conversion.
