Now that we can no longer afford petrol

.....the Irish have thought of a good use for all those redundant pumps!

Re: Now that we can no longer afford petrol

Do you mean to say the pumps are now dispensing Murphy's Draught?

Re: Now that we can no longer afford petrol

Of course! ... which is why they always drove under the influence, over the limit and in good spirits.

Re: Now that we can no longer afford petrol

As they say, "one for the road!"

If they adopted this in other countries just think what they'd be on pump:-

Australia: Fosters

England: Bitter

Scotland: Malt whisky

USA: Jack Daniels

Russia: Vodka

France: Champagne

Mexico: Tequila

Nobody would be driving very far, but who would want to and just think of the money we'd save on petrol!

Re: Now that we can no longer afford petrol

The price of petrol is enough to drive you to drink, providing of course you can afford to drive. No doubt, those two plonkers - Ben Doon and Phil McCavity - in the UK government will argue it's all in our best interests to walk to the pub or the new style Irish walk-ins for a drink whilst, in the mean-time, they continue to bank their salaries and live off the free perks and expenses. Wondering if Herbert FitzWilliam and William FitzHerbert are managing now that they have been bailed out... or is that the real reason for the new style pumps?

You mean there any pubs still open? Three have closed near to us in the last eighteen months.

It reminds me of Ealing's Whiskey Galore...
