Digital Compact

Hi,

In order to keep things happy on the home fornt I am looking for a quality compact to take on holiday (having to leave DSLR at home) thinking along lines of OlympuS XZ1, Canon S95 or similar.

If anyone has one they wish to sell please let me know, would rather buy off here than risk that well known auction site.

Cheers
Mark

Re: Digital Compact

Would you consider an Epl-1 with 14-42 on it,pretty compact and packs a good punch, less than a thousand clicks 100

Re: Digital Compact

Thanks Scott,

However I am really after a small compact for holiday use rather than a proper camera :-)

Cheers

Re: Digital Compact

Thanks Iiyama,

Not a member there but expect the price will be beyond my range for this. I am looking to spend around 100.

I am focussing my search on Olympus XZ10 or Canon S95 as they seem to fit the bill with regard to size, IQ and price.

Cheers
Mark

Re: Digital Compact

The problem is going to be narrowing down the choice! I've a Fuji F660EXR, my wife has a Panasonic TZ something or other, both very capable with incredible zoom ranges and very good IQ in most situations although neither a patch on a DSLR, friends have Canon, Sony, Olympus compacts, all excellent performers from what I've seen.

Tricky!

Re: Digital Compact

Well the choice is well and truly narrowed down as I have just bought a Canon S95, I hope it is as good as the reviews lead me to believe it should be :-)

I am sure it will be a more than adequate replacement for my Pentax Optio S which I have had for years.

Cheers
