Re: Capture One Pro 8....

I have to admit I rarely use LR5 these days and in all honesty have to go no farther than Capture One for most of my conversions.

This image was done totally in CO using the layers feature .

CO conversion

Also what has not been mentioned is the B&W conversion capabilities of CO which are very good, all my mono images in my Black Country Album were converted just using Capture One.

Paul, you are the consummate Master of CO - these are real blinders in processing the Squirrel is beyond exceptional getting rid of the 'haze' ? maybe you shot this through glass ? and I thanked you for such "recipes" which did the very same for my Fastnet images

Re: Capture One Pro 8....

Thanks Paul. I just spotted the B&W styles and presets last night. Not sure what the difference is between a style and a preset. Will have to start reading up.. So far just feeling my way around.

Thanks Huw. I stuffed up my laptop updating it to Win 8.1 (from 8.0) & since it was the only computer with a 64 bit OS I will have to wait for the 'bigger & better' one to arrive. It seems it will come tomorrow according to the tracking. It's an HP Pro that comes with Win 7 Pro (64 bit) installed & Win 8 Pro with it, giving me a choice to go either way. This time I'm sticking with Win 7 without the added garbage of Win 8 (I'm typing this on a Win 7, 32 bit computer & it's a an uncomplicated pleasure to use). It's a shame about all the time it takes to load all the programs, updates & files on a new computer though. I guess it's a bit like moving house & bringing your life's collections with you. But maybe it is a good time to leave all the past on back up & rationalise my files I'm reloading.

Sorry to hear that Ross, I know exactly what you mean regarding Win8 having helped to get my daughter's Win8 laptop configured for the home network a while back. Good to hear I'm not the only one that dislikes it
I'm happly still running Win7 64bit, all very uncomplicated and effective
Hope your new HP works out well.

Re: Capture One Pro 8....

I've yet to get any proficiency in C1, but I've developed a workflow to integrate it with LR. That way I get the best of both worlds.

My father said (I've got to blame someone) "You've got to hold your tongue right for it work."
