Tay Rail Bridge

I hardly ever have the time to get out with the camera these days, although my interest hasn't waned.

Managed to take this a couple of weekends ago, but just got around to processing it.

Re: Tay Rail Bridge

"Beautiful Railway Bridge of the Silvery Tay!
With your numerous arches and pillars in so grand array
And your central girders, which seem to the eye
To be almost towering to the sky.
The greatest wonder of the day,
And a great beautification to the River Tay,
Most beautiful to be seen,
Near by Dundee and the Magdalen Green."

McGonagall

(But written for the previous bridge, which collapsed with a great loss of life!)

Re: Tay Rail Bridge

I travelled over the bridge in 1944. As we went over my Mum said "Look James, a submarine!". I didn't know what a submarine was supposed to look like, and all I saw was glass factory roofs on the Dundee dockside. To this day I associate submarines with glsss factory roofs!

Re: Tay Rail Bridge

You've chosen a fine view of it. Well done.
