Some Australian King-Parrot Portraits from today.

The King-Parrots discovered something close today, so I couldn't let a good opportunity pass, so here are a few portraits of them.

The male.

And the female.

This one has some yellow on its back too.

This one said, "What about me?!".

E-M1 II & MC20+40-150 F2.8 lens. Images have had some cropping for composition.

Thanks Mark. I've got some good shots of Crimson Rosellas that showed up too, but I'll leave them for a little later to show. I had a good bird day today thanks.

They know where to find food if you spoil them with it & these birds would get some hand out (wild seed mix) from some in the area, even though it isn't the best for them to become reliant on that food then, however they will feed out of the hand if used to it.

Must admit I used to purposefully feed the Lorikeets in my parents home in Kincumber. Mum and Dad were not too keen, as they do become a bit of a nuisance. But they are so beautiful and cute, its difficult too resist.....

When we used to feed these birds the cockies (sulphur crested) would come & bully the others out & if we we didn't feed them they would start to chew on the house wood work or take patches of bark off the trees. They (cockies) can be soooo destructive. Also the King-Parrots would start to eat the flowers in the hanging baskets (along with the possums). Anyhow, the King-Parrots are enjoying the Sweet pittosporum (Pittosporum undulatum) at the moment.

Thanks John. If you go to Flickr for the last one & view it at full size you will clearly see where I took the photo from the reflection in her eye.
