TIIFS are fine. I used to get Olympus Viewer to convert from RAW into TIIFs when I had Photoshop 7.

Re: Nik collection now free

FWIW I downloaded this yesterday and had a bit of fun trying to work out how to launch things as I don't use Photoshop or Lightroom.
On Windows you can find the executables (.exe files) in the Program Files folders
e.g. C:\Program Files\Google\Nik Collection\Analog Efex Pro 2\Analog Efex Pro 2.exe
You can launch them individually just by double clicking or creating shortcuts to the exe then navigate to your image files from the "File..." menu.
You can also drag image files on to the exe or shortcut to launch them directly.

I had a pay with a a couple of TIFF files I'd exported from Olympus Viewer 3 and it seemed like there was a lot to play with!
