OM-D E-M5 Mark II body £600

Bought 31st March 2015. 331 shutter count (as of today). Perfect condition, totally as new.

Probably the best mirrorless camera I have owned but the lure of a full-frame Sony A7r has got the better of me.

Basically there is nothing not-to-like about a Mark II. I greatly prefer it to the E-M1 I had and it is better built and probably more useful and versatile than the Sony I've just bought.

Really shouldn't be selling it but still.....

Comes in its' original box with many accessories unopened: strap/leads/charger haven't been opened or used. The cute clip-on flash has been fired to test it only.

I also have a mint 12-40 and 40-150 R but am not listing them until I have definitely sold the camera body.

Cash pickup from me in Buckhurst Hill greatly preferred or paypal if you don't mind paying the fees or bank transfer. RMSD is probably about £12.00 with extra insurance.

I've put this on at an attractive price I think. I don't really want to take any less.

Thanks Mal.

Re: OM-D E-M5 Mark II body £600

A very good price indeed Mal, my mk2 is the first digital camera I have truly connected with and at some point I will get a second body but it will have to be silver ... I'm a 'retro' guy at heart. Good luck with the sale, At that price I am sure someone will take it off of your hands soon enough.

On another note did you succeed in selling the 100mm Zuiko you purchased off of me or have you decided to keep it for use with the A7r?

Kind regards, Simon

Re: OM-D E-M5 Mark II body £600

Hi Simon, I haven't sold the 100mm but will probably list it on Ebay. It's a bit too much of a luxury for me but users report great results using less exotic glass on the A7/r, and I have a few, like the Olympus 100mm F2.8 and 85mm F2 as well as a Nikon 105mm F2.5.

I also have a Sony a6000 and some sort of logic tells me I can use the a6000 crop lenses for out and about use, albeit with reduced (15mp) resolution on the A7r. The 2 Sonys also have similar menus.

I find the crop on micro 4/3rds too "long" on 75mm+ lenses.

However something else is nagging at me: that is some of my OM lenses like the 35mm F2 and 50mm F1.2, whilst making great standard lenses on the A7r would also make great portrait lenses on the Mark II.

Maybe I should use both Sony and Olympus bodies to exploit those old OM lenses again and sell the a6000 gear instead....

Be quick folks: last time I thought about selling my Mark II I decided to keep it. It really is that good a camera.

And like Simon it's the first Micro 4/3rds body I have really clicked with (no pun, ha ha). The E-M1 was close but the 5 Mark II really does it for me.

OK so maybe I should sell my micro 4/3rds lenses and use my A7r and E-M5 Mark II with my OM lenses: 21mm F3.5, 24mm F2.8, 28mm F2, 35mm F2, 50mm F1.8/1.4/1.2, 85mm F2, 100mm F2.8, 135mm F2.8/3.5, 200mm F4.

The more I think about this.......

If you are thinking of letting the a6000 go I might know someone who would be interested.

My son is considering the a5100. If you are thinking of selling the a5100 I could ask him if he's interested.

Re: OM-D E-M5 Mark II body £600

Truly a great price Mal. If only I wasn't saving for the 40-150 Pro I would have had it off your hands. Wonder what I would get for my E-M5 Mk1 (i.e. how much I would actually have to cough up).
Hope you manage to sell it.

Re: OM-D E-M5 Mark II body £600

Hi Mal. I've just signed up after seeing your post for the EM5 mk2.

I'm not sure if I can PM as a new member or not. I'm using tapatalk on my phone here!

If you still have it I'd be interested. I can send you my eBay profile etc if you want to verify I'm genuine!

Cheers

Rolf

Hi Mal,

I would also be interested if Rolf doesn't take it off your hands.

Best,

Phil

Re: OM-D E-M5 Mark II body £600

Thanks for your interest Rolf and Phil. I will pm you both later though Rolf has first offer of course.

I was getting used to the thought of keeping it especially as the A7r is more of a different camera than the I thought. I think the Olympus is much more versatile and the stabilisation may be something I can't do without....

Bump

Sort of a bump. I think if I don't sell this amazing camera by the weekend or by the end of today I may as well keep it.

I've just got it out of the box and it's looking tempting....

Hi thanks for your offer but that's not a camera I'd be interested in.
