Stinking Iris

Back in November I posted a a few pics of the inedible red berries from this interesting plant, but the flower I attributed to it (a daffodil) was quite incorrect, an error gently pointed out to me by LMGruchy (Linda, I think). And so this year I waited and waited for the Iris to bloom. This involved sneaking into an off limits area of a local park each month, usually with my bike in tow, and having little private conversations along the lines of "Hurry up, already!"
Finally, at the end of April, flowers began to appear. They tended to get eaten as quickly as they bloomed, but at least I managed to record the event. Finally.
The first image is from a stack of seven, using the 40-150 and EX-25 on the e-410 (with a tripod and onboard flash). The rest are handheld single images at f11 (#2) and f16 (#3, #4), with the 12-60 and E-1, with the fl36 bounced into a reflective umbrella.
Not the most striking of Iris flowers in our 'hood, but they have a subtle beauty, I think...

Re: Stinking Iris

I love irises, I know they don't last long, but they are fascinating. These photos show so much detail, and they're worth the effort taken
