Hilliers Gardens, Romsey, Hampshire

Hi to all you local Hampshire'ites ! Today I am orf to the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens with my dear friend.

This Acer tree is awesome with the sun shining through ... I hope to get some sharper shots of it today - sorry this is a tiny image

As dear friend has lots of bone pain and cannot walk far - I have hired two Mobility Scooters for a few hours this morning

Sometimes, Hilliers organise "Art in the Park" displays - Butterflies like this one were quite wonderful

We can WHIZZ around the gardens visiting down all the steep hills to get the most awesome views of uphill gardens then we can WHIZZ up the hills and take the Mob Scoots back for 12.20 when we take lunch in the cafe'. After which ...

we can take a gentle stroll about the gardens on the flat before going home sedately driving!

When I mentioned to my dear friend ... she GASPED and said WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UPTO ?

ps I have "played this game" and hired two, so as not too embarrass her and for her to enjoy all the far reached views of trees and plants! For her acceptance, I have been mischievous ...

Re: Hilliers Gardens, Romsey, Hampshire

An1e, she took two shots of me on my scooter - but did not she must have pushed the button down to focus - twice and not capture

BUT what a day out SUPERB specimens of Trees, Flowers and Art Sculptures and a fab LUNCH too ! Last but not least, all the staff are so passionate about their work !

Here is Anna - our Mobility Scooters were the same - so useful we could not have walked the distance and hills

Places to sit and enjoy the planting - vivid colours

Here is that FAB Acer with Copper silver birch like bark peeling

This Heather and the conical conifers

More of the sun through the copper peeling Acer bark

TWO trees were laden with Mistletoe

Amazing reflections of Daffs & Trees in the pond
