Re: Who's received their E-3 then?

Me, got it this morning, Digital Depot phoned yesterday

One question (which I've asked elsewhere) how do I get it to stop Bleeping, the manual says press shutter??? can't get that to work.

Any ideas Ian?

Re: Who's received their E-3 then?

Got it sorted, well someone told me actually. It's in the Tool 1/section D settings. I don't know how I missed it but there you go

I was lucky I didn't need to wait for the battery to charge, I just took the battery and CF card out of the E-1...........

.........All together now ..........Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh poor E-1

Have you registered for the Freebies yet?

Re: Who's received their E-3 then?

I'm sulking.

Ian, any chance Olympus will offer me one of the three you have used?

Have fun all.

Poor Barr1e

I think the very first I used, which had some fairly obvious pre-production image quality issues, has been taken out of circulation. Not sure about the on in Istanbul, though that seemed to shoot cleanly even with 0.9 firmware.

Oh well - back to my dreams. At least the emporium has had four 70-300 lenses in and out and we are next but one on the list.

Kindest regards. Barr1e

Re: Who's received their E-3 then?

Atleast you can focus on the pictures! Those of us lucky enough to have our hands on one will probably be messing with settings and lost in manuals for a while, and forgetting the basics of what you need to take a photo. Perhaps we should all have mandatory OM1 sessions
Hummm... I think i'll go set it on M and get back to basics, or atleast live view aided basics
Its the photos not the machine.
Phil

ps, I knows its easy to say. but true.

Looks like i'm the first on this thread atleast. Gat a call from Digitaldepot on the way home, my train conveniently went through Stevenage so collected just before they closed. Also picked up a Canon Ixus 860 for my girlfriends birthday - a really nice compact I think i'll enjoy using too.

OMG! Having your own is a great feeling I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight. Going out tomorrow to play and get lost in the menus.

Look forward to seeing all our first shots as they get collected/delivered

Re: Who's received their E-3 then,strange week

I noticed on Tuesday people were starting to get their E3's.I had one on order with the 12-60mm from Digital Depot.I noticed on their web site that they only seemed to have the body in.
On Wednesday my curiosity got the better of me so I phoned them as I had been told last week that I was number 4 on the list.
I was told that there was more than one list ie one for internet orders and one for shop orders and that they would not have anymore until next week.
Yesterday I was on a day trip to Antwerp in Belgium when my mobile went and it was Digital Depot saying my E3 and 12-60 was ready?????
Anyway picked it up this morning so I will not be on again until I've used it a bit.
Will post some photos probably on 4/3 user later.

All the best

Re: Who's received their E-3 then?

Received an email fron Warehouse Express stating they have received no information from Olympus as to when they will receive E3's + 12-60. Looks like I might have made a mistake ordering from them, the problem was I have never used Digital Depot or Park Cameras to know how good they are or not. Looks like I should have trusted them.

Silver lining mode< All you guys can sort out the best settings so I will not have to bother>end silver lining mode.
