Winter Robin Revisited

I took these on a snowy January winter day in 2010 on the E-30 at ISO 800 and was never happy with what I was getting from the raw file so just left them unprocessed.

Just had another go at them in Capture One 7 pro with a new learnt technique and am a lot happier with the result now.

The moral of the story is don't throw them away as software and your own techniques improve.

Re: Winter Robin Revisited

Lovely shots Paul, well worth digging out and having another go.
Would never had guessed they were ISO 800.

Re: Winter Robin Revisited

Just goes to show what can be done. I think the first one is great. The Robin looks like he's just had a haircut!!

Love the sbject; and the photos - Mr, Robin looks life-like. Also appreciate the text you wrote. Helpful for a beginner to understand advanced technology. Thanks.

Re: Winter Robin Revisited

nice work Paul, I agree about keeping old files to reprocess with new software, some of my best sellers have come from that

the second one has a lovely soft feel to it yet has kept loads of detail

Re: Winter Robin Revisited

Paul, I prefer the second, it is more "natural" as the first looks to skinny at the neck "sort of pinched in" or t#maybe the body is "puffed up and out more" ?

I am looking forward to processing so many E1 images in 7 ... when I get retired and time
