Small Hadley what can it carry? or all Oly kits weigh the same

A big advantage of the PEN system is that it saves a lot of weight and bulk. – Or does it?

I am very pleased with my recent purchase of a Billingham Small Hadley bag.

As intended when I bought it, it can carry the E-P2, VF2, M40-150 and 12-50, filters batteries etc. Weight 1.800 kg.

I have just been experimenting a little to see what else it could carry, with surprising (to me) results.

I can fit in E-5, 12-60 40-150, filters batteries etc. Weight 2.750 kg.

With the E-620 body instead of the E-5 the weight becomes 2.490 kg.

They all give the same FL range of 12-150. They all fit in the same bag.

The weight penalty for having the E-620 instead of the E-P2 is 690gm.

The weight penalty for having the E-5 instead of the E-620 is 360 gm.

The weight penalty for having the E-5 instead of the E-P2 is 950 gm.

So the bulk is the same and weight differences are surprisingly small.

Of course the PEN is more discreet, but the 12-60 is much better than the 12-50.

And every time I press the shutter on the E-5, I think “this is the best camera in the world”

Nice bag, but it does not make it any easier to decide what to take...

Re: Small Hadley what can it carry? or all Oly kits weigh the same

I have never ceased to be amazed by how much fits into my Hadley and Hadley Pro bags! I'm currently using a Lowepro Passport Sling II which also holds a lot but feels more comfortable to wear and I can carry my OM-D, m14-150 plus all my normal desired paraphernalia!
