Happy New Year - first photo of 2013

My wife and I at home after getting back from a friends' house to see in the New Year.

Taken using E-M5 and 45mm, ancient Jessops flash bounced off ceiling with wireless flash trigger. (I wanted to take the painting off the wall to avoid the frame being in the shot but I wasn't allowed, and it's far too late to Photoshop it out.)

Happy New Year!

Re: Happy New Year - first photo of 2013

Imageryone and Phil, thanks.

Chevvy, haha, I do venture away from the beach occasionally.
Having seen a nice photo of you yesterday I thought it only fair to reciprocate.
Although I must admit I'm not too happy being in front of the camera.
Happy New Year to you and Nick.

Re: Happy New Year - first photo of 2013

Thanks Paul. I'm still at the experimental stage with the flash. There is something quite satisfying about getting a decent image with a 20-something year old flashgu (Jessop 240TBZ). The only problem is that it's hard to adjust the output of the flash so I might have to invest in a new flash, possibly a Nissin Di466.

Re: Happy New Year - first photo of 2013

Nice use of flash which I still shy away from.

The Nissin is a great little flash that works very well
