Pine Marten returns.

Well it came back in good light and was a real performer, it knew we were watching from a few feet away but carried on regardless. Such a privilege to observe such a beautiful animal and generated the opening of yet another bottle of Claret!

Close up and personal, note the reflection of our farmhouse in it's eye:

Re: Pine Marten returns.

There may be luck involved, but there is a lot of skill from the photographer as well! Nice ones David. I had heard that they can be vicious little so-and-so's, and the second shot confirms it.

Ciao ... John

Re: Pine Marten returns.

Any wonder it came back if you are not only feeding it but also plying it with drink! Great shots lucky you.

Re: Pine Marten returns.

Fantastic shots David.

I saw a good few at Loch Carron a few years back, so I got to get a feel for what they look like, then saw one on the side of the road in N Northumberland. I think they may be getting established up here.

Re: Pine Marten returns.

Great shots David, you must be over the moon to get these pictures of such a rare animal. Keep drinking that claret!

Re: Pine Marten returns.

Those are special shots - I'd be well chuffed to have taken those. What a special photographic moment that must have been for you!
