Bowling Basin

This is the western access point to the Forth and Clyde canal - where it meets the river Clyde estuary. Boats are moored up and as you can see some are permanently kept here. It's like the Costa Clyde here today so I took my dog for a long walk along the river shore as far as the canal intersection.

Not the sight you'd want to see at the entrance to the basin if you've just arrived in your expensive boat.

They'll not get far with those sails

It's a visitor to these shores -I think it is Danish.

The basin has a dramatic backdrop - the Kilpatrick hills
