Lamb chops for Australia Day.

You may think this is a bit too much like typical FB or similar behaviour, taking a snapshot of the food we are eating, but we celebrated Australia Day yesterday & since it was wet I cooked the lamb chops with rosemary in a fry pan instead of on the BBQ. Having lamb chops on the BBQ on Australia Day is something we like to do as many others do too. Anyhow, our shoulder lamb chops cooked with rosemary & small potatoes (spuds, but slightly overcooked for this purpose) smothered in butter & chives together with salad made our evening meal (dinner) an epicurean delight.

Here it is & sorry I can't share any more than the photo with you.

(Taken with the Olympus Stylus 1)

I hope this may you inspire you to now go & cook your favourite meal. Show a photo of it it here if you wish.

Australia had a day? What do you do the rest of the year?

P.S. I like the photo!

Most of us call it Australia Day while others have called it Invasion Day.

The rest of the year? Nah, that's too hard to think about!

I'm glad you liked the photo. It tasted even better!

Re: Lamb chops for Australia Day.

I have to say it looks really good, the diet has improved a lot since we let the convicts loose! I really love Australia, with two of my nephews and their families still there, one in Tassie (Hobart) the other a successful businessman in Brisbane. Also a retired cousin and her extended family. Wish I was there with you Ross!

Re: Lamb chops for Australia Day.

Looks good Ross - A Happy Belated Australia Day to you!
We had friends in for the day - got into the spirit of things with decorative flags over the patio (not wet in sunny South Australia) and BBQ lamb followed by pavlova. Washed down with some local beverage. A Good Day.

I'm not from a convict family, but I did marry into one.
I have cousins in the UK (& further afield), so we also have some cross conversations about life here & there.

Can't say I'm into cross dressing, but that was my daughter having a little fun with something patriotic looking.

Thanks Lyn. Sounds like you had a great day. We had talked about having pavlova but was a little full anyhow. My wife makes a great one & usually for Christmas. We enjoyed a lovely bottle of red wine though & I think it might have been named Dragon's Blood (just some marketing name), but I'd have to check.

I stayed at the LAX Hilton once; food was on a large buffet bar. I and my colleagues watched with awe as an American guy went back for two refills of his heaped up dinner plate, then was on his second dessert when we left. He was tall, but he wasn't fat! I'll never know how he managed it...or even where he put it all! ! !

Must have had hollow legs or he visited the recycle station in between.

I must admit when years (decades) ago Pizza Hut (I think it was them?) had an 'All You Can Eat' system in one of their outlets & there were the odd absolute guts's that deliberately stuffed themselves. It was just sickening to see it.
