About the Birds & the Bees....

It is about the birds & the bees! What did you think it was?

First the Bee (on an Australian Eriostemon bush).

Next a Bee Fly (that will also feed on the Eriostemon flowers)

E30 with Sigma 150 macro lens & EC14 @ f8 (cropped)

And now the bird, a female Bower Bird helping herself to the layer pellets for our chooks.

heavily cropped from this original

which shows my E30 ain't finished yet.

And finally, from another bird, a bit of down most likely from one of our chooks caught up the branches of a Japanese Maple.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

Glad you brought the whole subject in focus for me (sorry, couldn't help myself). Lovely crisp shots.

Re: About the Birds & the Bees....

I love the Bee-fly, we have them over here and they can be seen early in the Spring, one of the earliest pollinators. I guess it's early Spring down South too.

Yes, they are an interesting fly. I only discovered (or noticed) them a few years ago.

Thanks Tim. The Beefly varies from different places around the world, but this particular one has interesting colours & patterns.
