I’d say the general consensus is that you might as well leave it on IS Auto and don’t worry. Older cameras had trouble making the decision, but the latest Olympus bodies seem very well able to judge automatically what’s going on (includ8ng whether they’re on a tripod) and I’d say the results are better than manually switching (and then forgetting how you’ve set it - I defy anyone to claim they’ve never done that!).
