It's customary to enter negotiations without putting demands on the other side before discussions begin, other than saying we expect 'comfort breaks' and tea and buscuits.
The first step is to agree an agenda and then decide on points for consideration from all parties, and then to logically debate each item. The starting position must be no idea is a bad idea.
