What would a second referendum achieve, apart from to trash the first one? We would no more know what the circumstances of our leaving would be than we did the first time. That is because we could not have foreseen the long process and divisions that arose for the first one and much the same kind of thing could happen second time around.

In the meantime, such damage as has been/is being done by uncertainty and delay would continue to get worse as the process is prolonged.

The body is willing but the mind is weak.
