My heart goes out to you with your DVIII nosing over, I know those props are not going to be cheap!
Getting close at these events is a major plus. As my low end kit lenses is all I have I tend to put the 40-150mm on my E-450

Props are not cheap. When I fly off tarmac or concrete (most of the time) I tend to put on a cheaper prop, that way should the worst happen its only 12.00 down the toilet.

Some of the bigger carbon fibre props will set you back in the region of 120.00
