I don’t remember British wine. I do remember that those funny shaped bottles of Mateus Rose were a special treat in our house, not that I ever got more than a sip.
We had numerous car makers, most were crap, destroyed by the unions.
We had doctors who did house calls.
Dentists were free.
Fat people were few and far between.
Buses were cheap and plentiful.
Trains were like buses.
Cyclists went unnoticed.
Fish and chips wasn’t an expensive luxury.
Police were respected (feared?)
Britain made stuff.
Cross-ply tyres were crap!
Music was better.
