Yes, thanks form the reply.

Sapper also uses the same Manfrotto.

I use the tripod mainly for Astro, and I do raise the centre column to try and see through the eyepiece rather than the screen. I find the eyepiece (EVF) is better for focusing. I need reading glasses otherwise.

Thus I thing raising the centre column makes the tripod a bit more shakey than not raising it.

I do also use the shsss (Canon) remote release, but still feel the set up is a bit shakey.......

Thus not so good astro shots

I have actually had quite good results by just hand holding shots at the moon, but they are inconsistent, and are probably slightly shakey despite what I have just said.

Thus looking for a rock solid tripod, it won't need to be carried any significant distance, so within reason weight is not a factor.

Will look at this Manfrotto version, and thanks for time replying
