I would like to see the fault tree analysis on the MCAS design. One sensor to determine pitch is not fault tolerant. I think I read recently that Boeng offered the two sensor upgrade, but at an additional cost. WTF!!

Yes I believe early supersonic flight had its problems. With certainty they would have mathematically modelled based on fluid dynamics, but didn't predict the transonic zone and its effects. When I started out we used analogue electronics to help with modelling.
