Olympus competition.

Apologies if this has already been posted but I've just seen a reference to the rather snappily titled 'Olympus Global Open Photo Contest'.

If my appalling IT skills are at their usual level, the link that I've seen is unlikely to be here, but then again, you never know:

Otherwise, here's a copy of the gist of it:

Showcasing and recognizing talented photographers, the Olympus Global Open Photo Contest opens from 08:00 am (BST) on Tuesday 25 August and is accepting entries through to 05:00 am (GMT) on Friday 20 November.
Entries are invited in four categories which are offered under five thematic headings: Life (“Birth”), Future (“Places to Preserve”), People (“Smiles”), and Technical (“Macro” and “Art”).
They should be in JPEG format with a maximum 15 MB file size. Up to 5 entries per theme can be submitted, and entrants are free to amend entry descriptions, take down entries or add fresh photos at any time during the competition period. The image data files can be created using any type of camera or smartphone, from any manufacturer, and uploaded to the contest website. Entries which have been digitally manipulated using photo editing software are also accepted.
The jury panel will be announcing the results via the contest website in February 2016. The Grand Prize (one winner, receiving the latest Olympus PEN series camera and 1 million yen ( around 7,400 Euros)) will be chosen across all entries and themes. A further 14 prizes will be awarded for each theme (1st, 2nd, 3rd and one Bonus Prize receiving Olympus cameras, and 10 Honorable Mentions each receiving a Moleskine Custom Edition notebook).
The total value of the prizes on offer is approximately 30,000 Euros. The contest also features a viewers’ raffle - anyone who registers on the site to view the entries (whether entering the contest or not) has the chance of winning either the latest Olympus PEN series camera, or one of 300 Moleskine Custom Edition hardcover notebooks.
Full details of terms and conditions and further information on the thematic headings and about the jury members can be found on the competition website.
