Re: Social Media killing our profession
I don't think social media has killed photography as a profession any more than mobile phone cameras have. If anything 'really good' photography is now more important than ever in this highly visual age but maybe many 'professionals' were just not up to it?
Digital cameras have made photography easier for everyone even if Facebook and websites do not need ultra-high resolution images. Maybe many of those who considered themselves 'professionals' were too easily replaced by a well aimed digital camera? What does that say?
There are of course concerns that Facebook and other social media sites are fuelling a mental health epidemic but that is an entirely different matter.
